چکیده

Background: Dengue is an epidemic in Pakistan. Proper monitoring of dengue cases necessary for its early diagnosis and prevention especially developing countries with limited resources. Our study aims to use some hematological parameters as Early Diagnostic Indicators Acute Infection which can help reducing mortality morbidity.
Methods: NS1 Antigen test was used identify 119 Patients over the months August-October, 2019. Hematological data from such patients collected analysed.
Results: In our thrombocytopenia prominent sensitivity based on gender distribution being 86% males 76% females. According age, had a up 81% younger age group 80% older group.
The other findings groups were lymphopenia, neutropenia, monocytopenia 55%, 43%, 24% respectively. Lymphopenia neutropenia similar across two genders, whereas higher among females 27% opposed 12%.
Eosinopenia did not differ much i.e. 18% young 19% genders 56% 60% females.
 lymphocytosis 21% also significant.
Conclusions: Differential Leukocyte Count Platelets indicators acute infection resource areas. This prompt treatment thus complications.

Platelet Indices as Useful Indicators of Urinary Tract Infection

Background: The changes of platelet parameters can be a useful index for rapid diagnosis of urinary tract infection (UTI), since platelet changes are routinely determined through complete blood count (CBC) test. The correlation between platelet indices, included number (PLTs), mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW), which are the indicators of production and function o...

Automated differential leukocyte counts.

Automated differential counts have the advantage of precision, efficiency, safety, and economy. They could potentially serve effectively in 90 percent of patients with normal counts or in 75 percent of patients with anemia only (64 percent of the total in this study). Even patients with increased white blood cell counts and major population shifts (toward granulocytes or lymphocytes) could be f...

Platelet-leukocyte interaction and platelet activation in acute stroke with and without preceding infection.

OBJECTIVE Acute coronary syndromes and ischemic cerebral stroke share similarities regarding elevated platelet activation. In coronary syndromes, the importance of inflammation with platelet-leukocyte interaction has been demonstrated. Recent infection is an established risk factor for ischemic stroke; the role of platelet-leukocyte interaction in these patients had not been investigated. MET...

Routine full blood counts as indicators of acute viral infections.

Over a period of three weeks about 9000 full blood counts were analysed on the Technicon H6000 automated haematology machine. From these, 62 patients were identified who had abnormally high numbers of large unstained white cells; these patients were followed up for evidence of viral infection. Seventeen were either lost to follow up or in chronic renal failure; of the remaining 45 patients, 40 ...
